Creating a blog with AutoBlogging Tool

image I came across a plugin which fetches content from different RSS feeds and creates posts. This is an excellent tool and I share my experience setting up this blog which is fetching the Latest blog posts from Top blogs.

I set up different top blogs from different category like technology, latest news, flickr photos, YouTube videos, Yahoo videos and almost every type of content can be fetched and posted using almost very RSS feeds. You can do lots of other settings like modify the template of your posts using the variables from the fetched feed like images, thumbnails links. This plugin supports different functions like looping, if – else clause, etc.

Setting up your Auto Content blog

Registering your domain

If you are planning your use an existing domain, then no problem or you can create a new sub domain and create this site. If you are planning a fresh domain and hosting, then go for a domain registration and hosting package suitable for you and get started.

Install WordPress

If your hosting has fantastico, then you can use that to install WordPress or you can download the latest version of WordPress. I recommend to use WordPress 2.7.3 beta, which I am using for this blog as well. Its quite stable and safe to use. Get a good WordPress Professional Template From Revolution Themes or WooThemes or iThemes which are great and gives your blog a professional look. Using Professional Themes are really helpful for enhancing your blog credibility and branding

Install the plugins

Autoblogging Plugin – This is not a free plugin, but its 100% worth the investment. If you are planning to use in multiple domains, buy the unlimited domain version or a single version will do. You can buy the Autoblogging Plugin Here

Installation and set-up of AutoBlogging Plugin

image The installation is very simple, just like a normal plugin. Unzip the zipped file and upload to the plugins directory and activate your plugin. Go to the autoblogging settings plugin and configure your settings. I can share my settings which is working fine for me.  There are four links to do your setting and the last one is the support link. The Feed link to set up the feeds that you would like to fetch. Tag options, filter options to filter out sites which you would like to be away from and the main settings pages.

Below you can find the screenshot of my settings page which is mostly the default setting except some which I have modified.

Update Your settings, the above page is my setting page. You need to enter your registration number which you will receive with the purchase email from the vendor. Enable automatic updates. You can set your minimum and maximum fetching time depending upon your feeds and the server capabilities. For your post contents, you can limit according to your wish, but I suggest not to post the entire page or you may end up with copyright violation or sites like copyscape while checking plagiarism will flag your site

Adding a new Feed

image You can add unlimited number of feeds to be fetched, but I suggest not to add much as it may create load on your server and server timeout may happen. Limit the number of items to be fetched to maximum 20. I would suggest to use Yahoo Pipes to aggregate feeds categorically and use that feed link to fetch your feeds. You can fetch RSS Feeds, Google Blog Search, Technorati Search and many more as shown in the image. You can fetch pictures and Videos too by search Flickr Tags and YouTube Tag Search. This really works great to get latest posts from hot trends.
